Suhr routes a larger hole when the guitar gets a covered pup. At least I know they do that on Moderns. I have 2 and wanted to put covered Aldrich pickups in one. Mine have uncovered Dsv+ and Dsv pups. Not sure how I found out but I probably asked John.
Suhrs and Andersons both have routes sized specifically for covered or open coil pickups from the factory. If you order them with routes for open coils you have to stick with those unless you make some modifications.
I can't tell you how many times I have run into this situation. Usually there's a pickguard or rings to cover up any little mistakes but it seems to happen often with guitars that have neither. Some guitars I just refuse and won't touch for that reason. Do you have a rotary tool and a steady hand?
You may be able to trim the pickup's ears and baseplate with a end snipper pliers, I recently did this with my EVH Star, the route was really tight, but trimmed the baseplate and ears to accommodate the new pickup
It shouldn't be very hard. Guys on the SD forum do it all the time, not a bad idea to shoot over there for some advice on how to do it if you are inclined. I've never done it, but the cover is usually just soldered on and held in with some wax. Get the solder off, heat it up a bit (hair dryer is good) and you should be able to take it off.
Killer guitar btw. I have an Aldrich bridge in my CU24 and it is a great pick up.
