Just got a terabyte of music from a buddy and he put on a boat load of Metallica    Love it

Looks awesome, definitely I love that era. Thanks for the heads up! This would look nice next to my Peace Sells 25th anniversary box set(which was awesome)

I just got the cd set, the demos are entertaining.
Also, the state of euphoria reissue came out not long ago.

It says "Remastered." Does that mean we get to hear the bass guitar now? :D

No because then they'd have to pay Newstead

i want to see the "and camcorders for all" thing. thats totally new to us AFAIK. i've heard most of that live audio before, only audience recordings from my tape trading days. same with at least one set of those demos. with james' "Ya na na" ing for lyrics : )
i used to be a metallica superfan in my teens and early 20's. had a collection of like 300 live shows, 40 t shirts, the whole 9 yards.

edit: oh hell yeah its already on youtube! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-SmmfxIkjg

lars' coke days + james was always drunk during this era :D ....this should be good!

I watched that video the other day and thought the best part was at around 14:24 with the live footage of "Eye of the Beholder".

I believe it would need to be remixed to restore the bass unless someone knows something I don’t ? I’ve heard some versions on YouTube where people have remixed/remastered it themselves adding bass and to me it just sound doesn’t right

Totally agree. I was just thinking that there were alot of thrash songs during that time that don't have that low end. "Toxic Waltz" by Exodus is one example. I think guitars were just more prominent during that period of thrash. Early Testament, same thing.

I hope they didn't fuck with the bass sound....I like it as it was...True that a lot of thrash in those select years didn't have heavy bass sounds....At the time...some of them had that, what I dubbed the "jew's harp bass sound" that you like hear on Among the Living and Under The Influence that didn't have overly heavy low end in it's sound but had that jew's harp twang to it(I loved this sound bitd:)....That bass really stood out that it was unmistakable, but not necessarily because of the low end which blended with the crushing guitar thrash tone of the day. This was a unique time really in getting these heavy sounds on the guitar/bass through invention and experimentation...it isn't like today where everyone knows how to get these sounds and every mix kinda has a real similar quality by comparison...or maybe better put is formulaic by comparison.

Jew's harp bass sound, unmistakable:
