Yes dude, loud and proud. I bought a 2x12 to play with mine, whoa boy, so loud, haha. I've been using my Captor, NYC apartment. Enjoy it!

Had an MC for a while.
Didn’t sound right with V30’s (I dig V30’s with every other amp I’ve had)
Much better with Greenbacks or H30’s.
Anyone else feel the same way?

Totally agree on the volume issue. Literally felt like I was raising the roof.
Addictive , but ultimately the main reason I let it go.

Congrats man, never heard a bad word about Wizards

First let me say that UberschallEL34; straight up professional. The amp is in as described condition (immaculate), best pack job I've ever received and super fast. Don't hesitate doing business with him!

Initial thoughts after 15 mins of play time.

Holy mother of all that's good, this beast is loud. I've read reports but it's unlike anything I've ever heard. It's like too loud. I could probably dig a 15watt version of this. 50 watts is just so over the top for me

-Great clean! Even in "Hi" input mode. One of the best high gain non-6L6/6V6 tube amp I've ever heard.
- crunch sounds great! Cuts like a knife, but not overly harsh.
-high gain is a bit of a struggle for me. The amp needs to be super loud to sound good. I live in a 4,200 sq ft house, so I thought I was good, but frankly the house doesn't come close to containing the power if this amp. I started using the fx loop as a master volume control so I could raise the channel volume, while still controlling the overall volume, which has helped.

Playing through 4 V30s that I may explore changing out. Any suggestions?
Certainly interested in amp settings as well

Fane F70’s or If you can find them, Fane Legends.

I've had a F70 loaded Fryette FB on order since November

Congrats on a killer amp OP!!!

Yep, GBs or similar like 65s. I've had a 2012 MTL 50, and a 2010 MCI 100. The 50 puts out like a 100, and the 100 like my Coliseum. Almost. But apart from the volume, they have a 'punch' that no other amp has...at least that I've played.

They are so uncompressed that I really enjoyed putting a slight boost in front if only to add 'some' compression. The MTL I had didn't take my boost pedals very well, while the MCI did as long as I left the saturation off. The mids on the MTL were just too different for me so I sold it. But the MCI was damn near perfect.

Congrats on the Wizard!

Congrats on the amp!

I like v30/Creamback H75 a lot with my MTLs. Also Fane F70s. I have Fanes in a rear loaded Wizard cab and in 3 front loaded Fryette FB cabs. They definitely sound better in the Fryette cabs.

I like a brighter tone. If your gonna run the volume low, you definitely need to crank up the bright and presence. I generally run them high regardles.

My lead channel settings are generally...

Depth - 5
Presence - 8 or higher
Bass - 6-7
Mids - 4
Treble - 8
Bright - 8
Sat - 4
Gain - 6

If you turn it up real loud, dial back the gain a little. I generally leave treble and bright at 8 and dial back the presence a little to control overall brightness. Or keep presence high and dial back treble. Either way one is always high. Bright always stays on 8

When I pull the rhythm gain boost there's a pop and and sometimes a drop in volume. Changed all the pre tubes, with new power tubes in the way. Any ideas other than what I'm doing?

Sounds like something's off....I know the long ago versions had a 'pop' when switching channels, and Rick offered a free update to remedy that as long as you paid shipping to/from. The 2012 MTL and 2010 MCI I had didn't have that issue. But I thought it only involved the channels.
