In other news, 12 States can't currently manage their power grids, countries are environmentally devastated due to lithium mining, EVs still don't have a standard for batteries, and those batteries are among the most toxic inventions of our time.

I’m all for going electric but I don’t think we are there yet.

I think we will be by the time these bans are expected to take effect though

no it mentions all 12, you have to hit the arrow to scroll to each one: NY, Delaware, Maryland, Oregon, Washington, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Maine, Pennsylvania, New Mexico
There goes another million residents from each of those states once you consider all the other news taxes and regs between now and when it's fully enforced. This is why I been thinking about a less attractive state to outsiders than TX. I see TX right now as California in the early 60's. A few more years from being totally hijacked roundabout by excess tax and regulation.

Guam or American Samoa?

I've actually been looking in the Florida Keys and US Virgin Islands - both good locations for sailing. Virgin Islands aren't 2A friendly though.

Looking into a mooring buoy to lease, and the rules to place a mooring buoy...but that could lead to issues of unauthorized use.

Mass is aiming for 2050, which is not aiming very high lol

Texas liberal here. I've been a master auto tech for over 25 years and can guarantee EVs are still at leat 10 or more years away from becoming commonplace. The battery technology is still in the stone ages and the charging technology is even farther behind...

20 some odd years ago we were having a similar discussion in one of my ecology classes and something the teacher said that stuck with me was that there will never be a comparable replacement for gas engines until there has to be. Once the proper money and resources go into making the switch, they will figure it out in no time.

He also said that spring water is just caterpillar piss.

Until it is cheaper and easier than gasoline and diesel, no one will make the switch. It has to make sense. Hour long charging times won't cut it either. If it's not faster than filling your tank then it's never gonna happen. We are a long way from that.

Not practical for passenger cars, but there are some smart people out there. Batteries keep getting better and cheaper too

I’ll tell you what: hybrids are cool. Practical, affordable and efficient. Great range and the second best option to an efficient turbo diesel like the ones VW made and the EPA killed.

I’m all for them making that switch!
The little bubble of delusion they live in will finally come face to face with harsh reality.
I can’t wait to see what happens 4-8 months in.. It will guarantee to push that nonsense back another decade before the rest of the states have to deal with the bubble people..
Viva la cali!
