No extra boosts or overdrive? (straight in)

No, I'm not using any boost pedals or EQ's.

Just guitar cord and amp. (straight in)

I modded both amps with a PPIMV and a couple of circuit tweaks.

Wow, thats more gain that i woulda thought possible straight in.

Sounds great

Thank you.

I could get more gain from the amps if I wanted to, it's just that it's comfortable where I have the gain settings right now.

Sounded great!! Tone and playing!

Thanks a ton guys, I appreciate the feedback.

Michael...that's killer!! The 68 Major tone is wonderful - I love how you can hear the intervals when you spread out the power chords. Nice.

Damn the 68 clip sounds ridiculous. Absolutely love it! That is THE tone right there.

I want that amp!!

Holy cow, that sounds glorious :)
I also like the Major clip the best. Great playing as well, you have a mean right hand!

VERY NICE!
Great gain and distinct bright-ish tone.
Records nice, and I'm sure cuts nicely live.
Great playing too.

Keep it rolling!

I'd say your new mic is plenty successful, it all sounds great! How loud are you running your amps to get your tone? Curious how much of those musically "squeaky" harmonics are coming from the preamp vs. power amp when you dig in.

AWESOME!!!! One of my dreams is to have a decent plexi style amp, someday!

I like the chord note separation with the Major, good point.

Thank you for the kind words.

Thank you so much guys, I really appreciate the feedback.

The '68 Major is the best sounding amp I've ever owned, it really is a monster. :)

I agree with what everybody else said... Great tone on the Major and great playing.

I think this new mic set-up is going to help me big-time, I'm very happy with it.
I had the volume of both amps fairly low, you're hearing the preamp mostly in these clips.

Thank you, you're very kind my friend.

I will say in the '76 Super Bass's defence, the power tubes are old and lifeless in it.

I have a new set of TAD EL34's on the way for it, hopefully these new power tubes will bring the Super Bass into the Major sounding territory. :)

Watched the first video. Sounds great! THAT'S the plexi tone that ALL the boutique amp builders having been chasing and charging 3-5k for.

Thank you so much for the kind words, I really appreciate ya checking out the clips.

I'm using a "lar/mar" style PPIMV in both amps.
