Who the hell could afford 2 Marshall stacks back then?!?! Not me at age 17.
He was a beast of player when he was young & hungry (so was his Rising Force band lineup). Groundbreaking. After about Fire & Ice, he became super derivative. Though I did love some Fire & Ice, Seventh Sign (Vescera!) and Facing the Animal.

lol I hope they had some hearing protection on... the guy has absolutely lived the image from day 1. You can see he was starting to find his unique voice on guitar here but there is zero doubt that he was a big Uli Roth fan. The guy he fails to mention time and time again.

I have heard Yngwie talk about this in various interviews. He claims that folks were practically giving these away in the late 70s because everyone wanted a master volume head. "I also found out one more thing, and it was an accident. I think I was about 11. Marshall started building amps that had a master volume on them and they were all the rage because you could get all that dirty distortion without volume, so all the four-input Marshalls, the Plexi amps, were like 50 bucks, and so, guess what I did? I snapped them all up, and all of a sudden I had more Marshalls than everybody else. But I had the Plexi ones that no one fucking wanted. Of course, now they are the most expensive ones but that’s besides the point, what I am trying to say is that also was a factor in all of this.“
Man....if I had a time machine I would go back to the late 70s and buy 100 of them!!!!!!
