Up for sale or trade - my 1985 Mesa Mark III+ HRG No Stripe head. This is a low serial III, with the same PT as the HRG IIC+ heads, and the IIC+ faceplate. This was built in Sept. of 1985 by Mike B. at Mesa. In Dec. of 2024, it was fully serviced at Mesa, where Mike B. also performed his + mod. This is as close as you are going to get to a IIC+ for less than $10K at this point. Mike B. is now officially retired, and you cannot get him to perform this mod any longer.
Only other deviation is the screen resistors are 1K 5W, as opposed to 470ohm. Adds a touch more compression, and makes life easier on the output tubes. I can switch these to 470ohm if you prefer. It's very simple and I don't mind.
Comes with an additional Mesa / Boogie logo for the front grill.
Foot pedals included.
Asking $3,200, but at this point, I am primarily interested in comparable trades. I would consider:
• A JMP-era 100 watt 2203, Super Lead, Super Bass, or other such JMP-era 100 watt Marshall
• An early, vertical input JCM800 2203 or 1959
• A pre-B.A.D. Soldano SLO, Hot Rod 100+, etc. 100 watts only
• Friedman Jose
• Marshall 2555 from 87-89
But hit me me up with whatever other big iron head you have that you think I might be down with, you never know.
Also would be down to trade for a 70s or 80s guitar, depending on what you have. Gibson, Jackson, Kramer, Charvel, B.C. Rich, etc. I'm not a Fender guy.
I am absolutely 100% not going to ship this thing. I cannot take that risk. I'm located in Manhattan, on the Upper West Side, and am happy to let you come try it out. You can crank it up into my Fryette Power Station 100. Sorry to be a PIA about this, but I've experienced too many shipping horror stories.
