Up for sale or trade - my 1985 Mesa Mark III+ HRG No Stripe head. This is a low serial III, with the same PT as the HRG IIC+ heads, and the IIC+ faceplate. This was built in Sept. of 1985 by Mike B. at Mesa. In Dec. of 2024, it was fully serviced at Mesa, where Mike B. also performed his + mod. This is as close as you are going to get to a IIC+ for less than $10K at this point. Mike B. is now officially retired, and you cannot get him to perform this mod any longer.

Only other deviation is the screen resistors are 1K 5W, as opposed to 470ohm. Adds a touch more compression, and makes life easier on the output tubes. I can switch these to 470ohm if you prefer. It's very simple and I don't mind.

Comes with an additional Mesa / Boogie logo for the front grill.

Foot pedals included.

Asking $3,200, but at this point, I am primarily interested in comparable trades. I would consider:
• A 70s 100 watt Marshall Super Lead or Super Bass
• An early, vertical input JCM800 1959
• A pre-B.A.D. Soldano SLO, Hot Rod 100+, etc. 100 watts only
• Friedman Jose
• Marshall 2555 from 87-89

But hit me me up with whatever other big iron head you have that you think I might be down with, you never know.

Also would be down to trade for a 70s or 80s guitar, depending on what you have. Gibson, Jackson, Kramer, Charvel, B.C. Rich, etc. I'm not a Fender guy.

I am absolutely 100% not going to ship this thing. I cannot take that risk. I'm located in Manhattan, on the Upper West Side, and am happy to let you come try it out. You can crank it up into my Fryette Power Station 100. Sorry to be a PIA about this, but I've experienced too many shipping horror stories.

Ugh. I’m in CT. Can’t even tell you how much I’d love to come grab this from you. I’m even gonna be in NYC for a show next week. Damn.

Go for it. I have my eye on a JMP Super Bass right now :)

The extra logo I have says Mesa / Boogie, not just Boogie. Is that what you're looking for?

So tempting! I like my IIC+ RI but I feel like this would be better. I had a blue stripe Mark III and it slayed. This must be a complete beast.

It is, yeah. I took it to a rehearsal a couple of weeks ago and ran it into an oversized Recto cab with V30s. Crushingly loud, and percussive. The problem is it's not really my sound. My whole thing is a boosted or modded Marshall, too much delay, and standard tuning, haha. I could mod it, but this is the last Mark III I should be modding.

So I own 6 IIC++ amps.. B coli, III coli…. And a no stripe 105…. I was impressed on how much I liked the III no stripe 105 even owning all the others!! Just info for thought!

Ahh bummer, looking for classic Boogie one.

I think I actually saw this posted on FBM like a week after I got my III++ otherwise I'd have been all over this since I work in the city.
