The sooner people stop romanticizing this shit the better. These kids aren't heros for surviving and this isn't wartime. They are victims of horrific and unnecessary violence. In a couple months you'll forget this ever happened but they will live with the trauma of watching their friends and family get their guts blown out. All because the supposed adults of this country are too cowardly to put a stop to it by getting control over gun violence once and for all.

Gun violence ?🙄 The supposed adults in this country aren’t actually interested in stopping murder and violence. They’re only interested in trying to blame my constitutional rights for their failed policies.

I support your Constitutional right. But, tell you what: let's contrast the rhetoric around the Second Amendment along with actual pictures of kids of Sandy Hook and Uvalde with their brains and guts hanging out of their bodies and see how quickly the conversation changes. Americans have been sanitized against this violence for too long. We can find a better way.

I can't imagine even offering the term "optics" around dead American school children. There's no illusion over kids screaming in horror before having their brains blown to smithereens. It's happening over and over.

P.S. Despite the temptation to turn this tragedy into political football it is horrific. I'm guilty, we're all guilty. I hate all of this. These kids deserve a better world than we are giving them. I've worried the last 20 years about my kid because of this insanity.
