Great sound and amazing player. I just thought he used Mesas back in the days. Interesting...

That is one of the best BE100 clips I have ever heard. I don't know how you would improve upon that tone for the stuff he is playing.
I agree. Way better than the 2 I've played through, couldn't get those bright enough for my taste. That was the best Friedman demo I've heard. I dial my tone in almost the same..maybe a touch darker.

Just the fact that Akira sez he doesn't need monitors speaks volumes about this amp.

So many bands use iso cabs, Palmers, Axe, in ears or combos of such.

Nice to see some guys still know how to ROCK.

Yeah, I know the more practical and safer(for the ears) is to use as little as possible on stage, but I tried in-ears a few years ago....can't do it. Gotta feel the sound next to me. Been 30 yrs, can t change now!

Tried his settings this morning. Such a killer tone for the BE! Love it!

Settings are: HBE, gain structure full, gain 7, c45 on, treb, mid 10 or a bit less, presence 3 to 5 depending. Now for this to work the amp has to be loud really like 4 or higher. Lower volumes you would have to tweek more lows in and might change the eq slightly.

Holy Sheepshit Batman ... i just did this OMG.

KS JMP : presence : 5, Bass : 7, Mids & Trb : 10 Master : 4, HBE pre : 6 C45 on.

My DSL :Presence 0.00, Treb : 6, Middle : 6, Bass: 8 LEAD #1 : master 3, pre 4

I got lots more dynamics with volume roll back, i had been playing rauncy Modded Marshall tones with these settings when i realized my volume was rolledback 1/2 way and had more Badass tones to go.

Found my new favorite setting, Thanks man.

Thanks for sharing! They sound very cool (with my 2015 BE). I would never have come up with these. Very interesting!

it would work live with bass in the mix ;)

Akira usually has great love tone with whatever he plays

Isolated early EVH tones sound just as bright and 'shrill'. That's what cuts through and sounds best in a band mix
Exactly what I was thinking.

We love these huge rhythm tones cranking out of our cabs while playing at home, but they never sound good in a mix.

Sounds good to me. Probably one of the better video from a Friedman endorser.

"That's why we love America" ....LOL

Thanks Dave for giving the settings. I likewise, just listened to the "live" and "Friedman" clips and above are the settings I see on Takasaki-san's amps.

I think some people just prefer dark settings, but then wonder why they have to rely on monitors at a show and/or can't hear themselves. As indicated above and in the clips. His settings cut through the mix and he can hear himself anywhere on stage. It's intentional!!

If you don't like those particular settings...dial them differently, it's that easy!!!

+1. I remember seeing Ratt back in 2003, the DeMartini version with the Love/Hate singer. His SLO tone was soo huge, bright and cut peoples heads off lol. Sounded great.

Great live tone. This will work in a band mix for sure.
I've seen them last year and they just kicked ass. Just what the doctor ordered in a 3 day festival. :)

Tried a Be 100 today locally
It was no where near that bright
Maybe it was older one
I used a PRS cu24 and to be honest
It was not a match made in heaven
The Prs pickups has kinda a mid honk to them when paired
With the Friedman I wasn't digging it
