Thanks for everyone that help on my previous post. I had the wait for a typhoon the pass through to get back to the store.
I paid alot more tension to it and I could see film still on the control covers and it was spotless. I the asked the manager if the scallop work was done after it was sold. He then told me that it was new. The customer ordered it scalloped and then either didn’t pick it up or didn’t follow through. I don’t know. He said it’s been in their warehouse storage since 2006-2007.

The serial number dates it to 2010 firmly putting this as order made. According to archived ESP literature “after a catalog model was discontinued, customers could still order it. If ordered after the year in which it was discontinued, ESP says it would be treated as an “order-made” (custom-order) instrument rather than a normal catalog-production guitar.
I then asked if it came with a case or bag. Typically Japanese prefer bags. The told me they’d go look. To my surprise, they came down with the original shipping box and cardboard and the case, completely NOS.
Of course I played it and not only is it set up perfect, it’s was still in tune with original strings. The action is so low, the fret protector is a bit snug.
They had the guitar on display for about a year listed much higher and a few days ago they listed it for sale at ¥234000, who’s is around $1460.
This is also the same store that I found 2 new sets of Duncan Custom Shop Akira Takasaki that was limited to 100 sets. I fell like I should offer to help them clean their storage are
