Are there really only 18 of them in existence? I had never heard of one before.

There are at least 20, based on what Mike's told me. All of them sound a bit different and they're picky about power amps. I own one that's great and used to have another that was not so great.

They only artists I know of who recorded with the preamps are Marc Diglio (XYZ), DJ Ashba (Beautiful Creatures), and Levon Sultanian (OneSideZero). Morin heads or modded Marshalls are more widely used.
