It's a good song but....:poke:

"Woody Guthrie never officially joined the Communist Party, but he was a fierce socialist and a dedicated sympathizer who wrote for communist newspapers and strongly supported the Soviet Union. Instead of a traditional politician, he famously called himself a "commonist" who fought for the rights of the common working person"

I'll give him a pass for today πŸ˜‚

Although fiercely fighting the American Military and dealing it blows......

The American Indian/Native American stands as an American symbol of freedom and an American symbol of hope.....

The last remnants of an era and of the Wild West and a "Wild" America before the US existed.....

Few represent that symbol like Crazy Horse.....

Perhaps one of the most brilliant strategic, tactical and military minds of his time, although he would ultimately end up defeated by the US his engagements with the US gave America new ideas in warfare, forced America to change how it fought battles and in turn one can say transformed American Military strategy in doing so to the point that the US Military now studies his tactics and strategies for use in modern day.....

Against overwhelming odds Crazy Horse would pull of the impossible and military miracles by standards then and even by todays standards relative to times and eras...

His most notable battles include The Fetterman Fight, The Battle of the Rosebud and The Battle of Little Big Horn....

Revered and feared by friend and foe alike.....

Crazy Horse of the Lakota Nation.....

One of my golfing buddies is Lakota. I (jokingly) gave him an "Indian name" - Two Eagles, because he once got two eagles in a round. Hell of an achievement and a hell of a great guy.

Samuel Clemens......

Better know to some as Mark Twain....

The "Father of Modern American Literature"....

Even 150+ years later his writings and stories today/now are as fresh as they were yesterday/then.... Twain captured not just America and the American Spirit in his work but the admiration many hold towards it and the American Spirit as a result....

Criticizing society, culture, conventional wisdom and pushing the norms of the day even by todays standards he was a rebel in his writing, much like the Founders were and wasn't afraid to say it like it is and speak truth to power. Twain defined not just a people and culture but a new way of thought and character for the nation and a people that while not always pretty or nice showed the beauty of the nation and it's people in the character he portrayed it's people in through his story telling and the way he portrayed the country to America and the world.......

Samuel Clemens impact not only on America but the world and what he showed about it could not be more true now than it was 150+ years ago..... Although much has changed and times have changed.....

IMO Samuel would argue Americans, people in general and society, the country and the world in general may have changed with the times but a lot of the struggles, aspirations, troubles, ambitions, dreams etc etc have not changed much in regards to the American/Human Condition......

Aside from being the most influential author of modern times Clemens may be the funniest comedian of modern times as well....

His most notable books and writings include the "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" and " The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn"......

Samuel Clemens/Mark Twain......
