Hi,

I'm quite new to this forum ... so hello first of all!

I am looking for a 2x12 Cab for my BrownArtist Head (www.schroeteramplification.com) - soundwise it's a 100 watt, 3channel amp (nice clean, Marshallesque-Crunch and the 3rd channel ist that EV brown sound). Wonderful amp!

Currently I'm using a 4x12 1960 Marshall Cab (loaded with Scumback M75s).
But the 4x12 is way too heavy and complicated to transport - so I'm looking for a 2x12 cab (I'm using a mic and a PA system anyway...)

So far, I've come up with the following cabs:
- Dr. Z Best Cab
- THC flexback
- Marshall 1936/2061cx

or maybe a custom made:
- Scumback 2x12
- Mills
- TubeAmpDoctor

What do you guys think?
Any experience with these cabs or any other recommendations?

Thanks for your input!
Cheers
Wolfgang

White Box Cabs. Orange type quality for just a little more than Avatar and Lopoline. Impressed with their customer service, options, and are now my main cabs when I need a 2x12.

You might put Port City on the list....love mine! :D

I'm a Diezel die-hard, so...

...if you can find one.

thanks - I'll put them on my list!
... I was hoping, that it'll getting easier  too much (good) choices :D

I'm located in Austria - so it's quite easy to find a Diezel Cab (would also fit quite well to my Einstein and my Schmidt)
Port City Cabs are not so easy to find in Europe - I'll check if they'd ship to Austria.

I play my whitebox cab more than my port city, avatar or splawn cabs.

Which Whitebox do you have?
Normal size or the oversized?

It's the 2x12. They only have one type as far as I'm aware.

definately whitebox. really good sounding cabs. a buddy has one that sounds phenomenal. i plan on making it my next cab for sure

I haven't heard of Whitebox so I checked them out, appears their website is down ?

Are Whitebox cabs available in England?

I'd really like to pick one up. Avatar aren't available here. =/

I've got a Mesa 2x12 recto and it's great. It weighs almost if not more than some 4x12's but it smaller and a bit easier to get around. Big sound too, lots of bass and built like a tank.

I love my 2x12 mesa halfback cab. ported bottom with an open back top.You can find them on the cheap too.

I have a cheap ass Framus 2x12 with v30s that simply rocks..... it's light and honestly not made of harder wood...but for a stay home cab, it's GREAT.

now the Egnater tourmaster 2x12 that I have is SMOKING and built like a tank man..... I'd recommend those cabs to anyone.....

I wanna get an egnater 4x10

I love my Port city 212 os.My only nit is that the recessed handle is on the top.Not a big deal if you plan to use a live in case, but without it I find it to be more difficult to move around than a 412.I will be getting another soon and was going to see if they will put a recessed handle on each side as opposed to just one on top.Even if they came with no handles I would still get another because it is the best I've owned or played, and I've owned and played some nice ones.
Good luck in the search.

The original poster is much better off getting a made in Europe cab for cost reasons. Why not get the Orange 2X12. It is a great cab. Or the Diezel 2X12. Or the Hughes & Kettner Custom Class 2X12. All great cabs and would probably cost the same or more than likely, less than what you would pay for a Bogner or Mesa cab (which are what I use).

hey guys,

thank your for your comments! looks like there are plenty of good cabs out there...
it's true - sometimes the shipping costs are higher than the cab itself.

did someone of you play a Scumback Cabinet yet?
The speakers are great but I've never heard a cabinet...
