My Friedman 2x12 came from the factory with two 16 ohm speakers that make an 8 ohm cabinet, so it's wired parallel.

Any reason to try a series wiring it with two 8 ohm speakers that will make it a 16 ohm cab? Will it influence the tone in any (good for my gainy Smallbox 50) way?

My 2x12 cab is wired with two 8 ohm speakers making it 16 ohms.
IMO, there is no tone difference. However, if one speaker blows, your amp may suffer...as if you yanked the cable out with the amp running. Not good for the output transformer.
That's my understanding.

-I'm crazy cuz I think 8ohm speaker's sound better!!!... They're definitely louder,

The amp utilizes the whole transformer @ 16 ohms and less @ 8 is my understanding
