First off....Hello to everyone in the forum as I just signed up and am new. Great site with a lot of musicians with much experience and insight. Looking forward to hanging around here and learning a thing or two!!
I just picked up an Egnater Mod 100 head and am looking for a good 2x12 cabinet that will get along well with it.
I have been looking for something in the used market and from lurking thru many threads have my eye on:
Suhr CAA 2x12 (Have one listed local for around $575 (Hi or decent $???)
Port City 212OS ~ Seems to get good feedback from most that have used them.
A Egnater Tourmaster 2x12 would match the head nicely, but that sucka is heavy and not sure about the CL80's.
This Egnater Head is pretty big so the cabs above did look like it would allow the head to fit up top.
Anywho....Play damn near everything except for the detune chuggin' stuff.
Clean fender type clean stuff, blues (SRV, Beck, Gilmour), Classic Rock (AC/DC/ZZtop, Van Halen), 80's stuff...ya know the hair stuff, to Alice and Chains to Tool (about the heaviest for me). Also like some Kings of Leon, Foo Fighter type stuff. And finally.....Like to do stuff like Pete Thorn, Steffen Schackinger, Guthrie stuff.
So, looking for a cabinet that can hold its own thru the diversity. I tend to gravitate toward the vintage tones I guess even on the drive stuff..i.e. hot rodded marshall versus the mesa scooped tones.
Whadda ya think?
