3 Amps, 1 Cab - Henning, Splawn, Fryette & K100's...

I wouldn't say no to any of these but I really liked the Henning.

Glad y'all found things you liked or didn't from each amp. There was definitely nothing scientific about this at all. Literally just swapped the speaker cable to hear all three.

The Henning DEFINITELY benefits from my V-Boutique cab loaded with V30/H30 combo, the Splawn shines with my Cramback 65 cabs and the Sig actually sounds great through those 2 cabs as well. It sounds good IMHO through the K100 loaded cab but definitely needs some more tweaking.

Love clips like this! So interesting how widely the opinions vary and what people prefer.

I think they all sound really good. I like how Jeremy dials my amp for his playing - the amp sounds very tight in the bass and incredibly present and clear. I play so differently, both in material and approach that I would never dial the amp like this, so it's so cool to hear it on this type of material. As an '80s guy, I always dial a smoother, more mid-rangey tone and my amps are really tuned around the G12H30s, but hell, if I could play this material, I'd dial it like this for sure!

Playing is off the charts as usual. I wish my right hand could handle rhythm riffs like that...

Yeah the Splawn seems to be the amp I have put up for sale more than any other over the last few years but like I said, I spend 10 minutes with it and I think, "YOU'RE A MORON! This amp slays!!!!'

I know what you mean. I've had a 2012 Quickrod for the past couple of years that doesn't get played as much as the Friedmans that I've had, but whenever I do plug into the Splawn... I'm always impressed and reminded of why it's still here. The fact that I STOLE it and the matching, Smallblock loaded slant 4x12 for $850 total is part of the reason that it's stuck around. I've never gotten more tonal greatness from just $850 in my 33 years of playing. I would have SLAYED in the 80s and 90s if I could have had that kind of tone at that price (which is a price I could have actually afforded back then -- unlike the Bogner, Friedman, VHT, Engl, Aiken, etc stuff that waited until much later).

Ridiculous playing!

I preferred the Henning over the others (the clarity/cut was great, that tone would sound bitchin in a full mix/band setting where at least as dialed in, the others may not as much).

They all sound great man

Been playing my newly acquired D60 through an EVH 412 but am curious to hear it through my K100 loaded 2x12. Be a few weeks before I get to that. Also stoked to try it through both the 412 and 212 hooked up together for maximum carnage .

Not a great representation and I will definitely do a full play through for Dunky's but here is the Sig wen i first got it and is also going through the MF400 w/K-100's

Henning please

If the Henning read "Cameron" on the label guys would be jerking off all over themselves and lining up to get ripped off by mark.

They all sounded great, I thought the Sig X fit your playing the best. Wish I would have kept mine!!!!

Here's a quick set of clips sort of playing the same'ish riffs. I used the PRS SC245

I used the same cab on all 3 amps. Dialed in for my usual type of sound. I haven't played the Quick Rod in ages and was looking to potentially sell it but damn if I don't still love this amp!
In order for me. Sig X...juicy. Henning...old school, very nice. QR...on point as always. I've owned two of the 3 (QR. Sig X), and really wish I hadn't sold the Sig X. It along with the BE100 are the only amps I have a bit of gas for. Although the Henning stuff has always been of interest since the James Lugo amp shootout days. You got 'em, I'd just keep 'em.

Yeah I need to try a BE-100 in person. The Butterslax is damn near perfection IMHO but would love to try them side by side. I will be at NAMM in January so I assume I can make that happen.

If I were buying one of those three, it would be the Henning.

Great work, Steve.

They all sounded great and would be happy with any of them. That being said...so glad I have a Henning Bottle Rocket! What an amazing amp!

That Bottle Rocket killed. I have a Splawn and I love it, but I'm thinking of downsizing to a 50w with a SOLID PPIV master volume that an attenuate for smaller stages and still get the goods.

The splawn, then the Henning, and the fryette last but they all sound awesome
