Both three pre tubes. Jose is two gain stages(V1) and cathode follower(V2). Aldrich is four gain stages. (V1, V2)

thank you sir... I believe I have your old jose slp from office studios in CA. I almost sold it for a guitar Ive been wanting but decided against it. It has a nice tone and feel. I have the 5 way rotary set on 3. What did you normally use?

Jose is 3 stages. V1a > v1b > v2a then cathode follower v2b.
Aldrich utilises v2b as a common cathode to become 4 stages.
