I've been interested in a small grab and go combo with some gain. Criteria are pretty simple. It must have good tone and it must weigh 30lbs or less. I had pretty much decided on the Carvin v3m which comes in just around $1,000 and was just waiting on some cashola, but I stumbled on this. Looks pretty cool and is just a little more price wise. Anyone played it or heard it in person?

While I havent played a sock monkey, I have played a grease monkey, an orangutan, and will hopefully get my hands on a Virgil soon....every amp I have seen, played, touched, or heard in person by these guys has been fantastic. And Greg and Ossie are both absolute great guys as well!! They have been to my place a few times, we have caught them at the South East amp show, seen them around town a few times....they always recognize me and say hey.... just really great guys!! I know for fact they stand behind everything they build!!

Maybe they'll bring one to your gearfest in a few weeks

Ive heard nothing but great things about these amps but the cosmetics are not my thing!!!

Brad King sells them "threadkiller" and is now a dealer. I'm sure he could hook you up :)

I have Grease Monkey #0 (No Serial Number) and it's absolutely a fabulous amp. It really loves single coil PUPs and Greenbacks.
