Those sound really good! My god the difference between the 59 guitar and the 2002! Jeesh! I guess they had better wood in 1959.

The tonal difference isn't only the aging of the woods and parts, the finish has more to do with it than you'd think. Nitrocellulose lets a guitar breath more.

So, the original 59 doesn't have the 36th anni pups installed? I thought Larry believed in his product.

I'm not sure exacty what the difference is between the real 59 LP and the reissue, whether it's aging or quality of materials but the pickup is certainly close enough for me. It's obviously brighter in the brighter-sounding reissue. Still really close to my ears.

I had a 36th that I liked, but a 2nd degree black belt replaced. It was a little more woody and warm. For the price though, the 36th is hard to beat

Wow, they should have used a different amp. I'm sure those guitars sound good, but that tone is weak.

Seriously? People spend BIG BUCKS to have a guitar relic'd. People pay other people money to beat up their guitars. I highly doubt guitarists honestly care about a few bumps and bruises if it means better tone.
