So I was completely intrigued by the site of these new amps from 3rd Power Amplification.

Has anyone gotten a chance to play, hear, or see these amps in person?
The youtube videos that I have seen aren't good quality, so I would like a personal oppinion.
I know they were launched at summer NAMM. Any of you Rig-Talkers get a chance to check em out?

If they sound as cool as they look it will definitely be hard for me to contain my GAS.

Did I ok what? Sorry I am new to rig-talk so if I'm doing something out of line I don't know...

I don't mean to act like a dick, but this being your first post, talking about how awesome some amps are, about which, we've never heard just seems fishy and deceptive. If your intentions are good, and you're not actually an employee spamming this amp, then, welcome to the club, mang!

No no no....I'm trying to find out if anyone has heard them....I just saw a pic on a NAMM post and thought they looked cool. I'm a college student, not a part of any employee scheme...I figured someone here might have seen, heard, or played them. I was only interested in learning more about a new product...which I thought was what this site was partly for.

I will say, I talked to the guys at 3rd power. As I am looking for something to fill the chewy, saturated, cameron spot. I am looking to possibly deal these amps, but I am gonna take another test run at the Nashville Amp Expo in August. So, we'll check em out again then. They had some crazy looking cabs. I only had one bitch tho, triangle cabs, but where the hell were the handles? Never saw em. I'd hate to be smashed and packing up leaving a show with 3 3x12 triangle cabs and a head and rack unit.

All said and done, the head seemed to have a pretty kickass tone. It was all PTP and made in Nashville Tn. I don't wanna say its a badass must have amp yet, nor will I say its a good one and dependable. I can only say I liked what I heard, and look forward to talking to the guys at 3rd power.

Trent, it does come off a bit sketchy, but you myspace page seems to clear up any issues I had. Welcome to the boards. FYI, ya may not wanna come on like an endorser from your 1st post. We're like a really loving close hateful disfunctional family.

God forbid we talk about Gear on this forum!

I heard about these amps from the Peavey AR rep here in Nashville. He had good things to say about them, but I've not heard them myself yet.

Josh, what did the cabs sound like? I think it's a cool idea for a W/D/W rig, but not sure if enough stereo separation is there. And I thought the same thing about the handles and what about casters? I saw these about a week ago on TGP. I don't like their clips, but intrigued by the cab design. Would love to stick an EV and 2 scumbacks in there and give it a go.

Cabs sounded great. As with any v30 cab to my ears at least!!! :) Yes its cool for a wdw but they need handles and more stuff. What if ya want 1 cab. Haha, you're screwed! But I wanna take another go with the amp, I thought it sounded great!

So should I edit my initial post?

Hell no! Post ya want, just keep it in line.

Welcome!

Welcome to the forum man. Lot's of good knowledge around here.

I am super interested in the cabs as I am looking to graduate to W/D/W and it would save some space. I called a dealer the other day and they don't have the price list up yet. MSRP is $1599 for the trio I'm intersted to see what they'll be retail.

Again, I apologize if I shouldn't be posting on this forum but saw your questions and wanted to provide insight. I'm looking forward to seeing/meeting those of you who make it to the amp show.

Best regards,

No apology needed, and welcome to the forum, we have a ton of people who either own or work for different manufacterers, myself included.... bring it on, lets talk gear!!!! :D

Welcome aboard!

Lance, do the cabs lock together? Casters? Very cool design.

Thanks Juggernaut, sounds great!

Shark Diver, yes they do lock together. No, we do not currently have casters on the cabs. We may add that in the future though. Thanks, I'm glad you dig the design!
