Hell they were still good in the 90's and early 2000's. Yeah his voice is shot but his banter still cracks me up lol. The shit he comes up with is so cheeseball and always the same but it is vintage Paul. I love it.

Gimmick or not, they do have some bitchin greasy tunes! I mean come on, "Cold Gin" is great, Detroit Rock City, Black Diamond , Love Gun. For it's time it is areana rock at it's best.

In the seventies and eighties there was danger to Kiss. They had a lot of good tunes as well. Not great instrumentalists, but great songs. Nowadays the rappers have stolen the danger rock bands use to have. No one is standing out, and no one is interested in long guitarwanking solo's anymore. Rock bands today better get that danger back!
