50w Head into 2x12 cab with Greenbacks (Bogner)

I'm looking to pair up my XTC Anniversary to 2 Greenback speakers in a Bogner O/S speaker cab. The amp will be set at half power (50w) and the voulme will never go above 11 o'clock, so will this cause any issues as I'm led to believe that an amp c an put out sometimes 150% of its nominated rating but in my instance it would never get dimed?

The reason for this question is that 2x12 is as big as i can go and greenback speakers are my favourite (& I have a lead on some good pre rolas)?

I think you will be fine. I have been told that I am being risky running my Vox AC50 into a 212 with 2 anni G12H30's, but I have been fine. Pretty much any amp can blow any speakers, you just have to exercise some caution. I bought a mesa halfback 412 with a blown EV EVM12L, those speakers are 200Watts and it was in a 412, yet it was blown....
