5150 LBX WHOA

Okay so I finally got my 5150 3 LBX last night...and WHOA that is an amp!

BUT...

This is not a bedroom amp. I literally have the volume buried to the left and that is a decent volume level...but I would like to have a little wiggle room there.

In addition I switched to 3 3/4 watt mode and I heard no difference at all, both 15 watt and 3 3/4 are the same level...maybe that makes a difference as you start cranking it up?

I am running it through a Orange PPC108 (1x8" speaker).

How can I throttle this beast back?

Slap a volume pedal in the fx loop. You might be able to taper it down a bit without altering the tone too much.

Make sure it is the right OHM resistance. If you put a volume pedal meant for the front of the amp it will not sound very good.

I was just looking at the TubularMods JuiceBox attenuator...inexpensive and sits between the amp output and the speaker input. Didn't seem to color the tone.
