I wish the lynchbacks were fuckin 16ohms. To my ear they sound like a cross breed of the heritage and the v30, leaning more towards vintage 30. I think celestion kinda failed not offering the option.
I agree, the LB's are incredible sounding.
why celestion limited them to 8ohm is anyone's guess

I'm with you on the lynchbacks, I like the tone from the clips I've heard, but instead went with the 70th anniversaries. Because they were described as a mix of v30 and greenies, and several metal heads here recommended them. They are not broke in yet, or I would record something and try to compare to the lynchback clips. Have you tried the anni's?

I have 6 cabs and my favorite one is a Mather 4x12 Marshall repro with an "X" pattern of Lynchbacks and Anniversary H30's. Don't worry about the dB discrepancy.............the Lynchbacks punch right through the lows and highs of the H30's.

It's a crushing cabinet. I loved mine before I gave up playing live.

Well, I tried it again last night (without my 11 month old baby sitting right there in a playpen! ;) ) and I have to say I have a different view now. I was totally digging the sound of that cab  The louder I played the better it sounded. Looking forward to my next show and lugging that big a$$ thing around :aww:

I absolutely love my 5150 III through the matching EVH 412 cab. When I first got the cab it was a bit bright, but play it loud for a few hours and it will start to mellow. I actually find the cab dark now.

I found it dark too when broken in.

I LOVE my 5150iii 100 watt full stack!!! now iv had this a couple of years now and these cabs are in NO WAY DARK! They are bright and go with the 5150 like ham goes with a sandwich... The only thing is that the cabs are like a laser beam, you have to stand in the correct spot for them (at least to me) to sound good, they are very directional, I play mine at home, its in my living room I turn it up and sit on the stairs like 25 feet away and it sounds awesome.. ask my neighbors

That's some good 5150 era tone right there.

 Thanks man! Just putting out a quick clip to help!

Not for nothing, but I prefer the presence on my evh 50 watt no higher than noon, and I use the treble to dial in the highs to taste. Too much presence gets out of control very quickly in that razor blade kinda way. Bear in mind that this is going through the 2x12 with the g12 h 30s
