Ok, been using my 50 watter with my cover band and now after several gigs I realize that the clean channel is worthless because of the volume drop. I know it's been beat to death but I need to get this fixed somehow. I use pedals and no midi so I don't need to hear about those options

Please help

Clean boost in the loop is how I deal with the problem but I'm not gigging. If I were, I'd not use the 53 50 watt unless I'm just using blue or green and red. There is a mod to help with the volume discrepancies but it make green real gritty.

I use a line 6 pod xt live to control channel switching as well as some efx. I use an eq with compression with the clean channel to bring up the volume

What are your settings? When I owned one I had zero problems once the head was up to volume... I ran the gain for the green/blue between 12/1 o'clock and got an awesome rhythm tone and a great clean tone... check it out... the Gmajor is in the loop but I'm not using any of the compression or anything like that, just delay and reverbs, that's it...

The volume difference was there for me even at high stage volume.

If I didn't run midi w/ an EQ in the loop I wouldn't own the 50w because of this.

Yes its there at high volume. It's awful and going from clean to crunch the clean is barley audible. I thought I saw some change a resistor that dirtied up the clean but gave it an even volume. That would at least work and get me thru some songs

I just got a Line 6 HD500x to channel switch and add effects to channels 2 and 3.

I am going to use the Line 6 modeler to create a Fender clean patch instead of using channel 1 on the amp. Of course, I will be using the 4 cable method to bypass the preamp section of the EVH 5150 III when I run the Fender Patch.
