wow

this is the first 5150/6505ii / + I've owned.

Previously have owned a couple of 5150 mk1 signatures and a block letter.

This new 6505ii may be the best I've played out of the series.

(haven't played any of the other 6505 heads).

Sounds incredible.

Clips coming soon.

Over the past few years i've owned an OG uber, rev f recto, Diezel herbert mk1, Wizard MTL... some nice high end amps.

This 6505ii was immediate plug in, play and love.
Barely have touched the dials.

No boost needed either.

I used to own a Peavey 5150II and traded it as I was re-starting my guitar journey and could not afford keeping it back then. I should have!

Congrats and enjoy the new amp.

It's one of the best sounding amps of all time IMO. For a metal rhythm tone it easily beats amps costing 3-4x as much. of course thats a generalization but Ive sold alot of amps after comparing them to my 6505+ which is the same as a 5150II.... I would recommend a 6505+ labeled head made in USA because that amp would be built within 10 years ago here in America compared to a 5150II that is around 25 years old or more (why take the chance on needing a cap job). The more recent 6505+ amps are made in China , I dont know if they sound as good , never tried one.

I still like the 5150/6505 better on the normal input and boosted, but have liked both of the +\II’s ive had as well. I always have one around for practice, while the other head is an ever-revolving lineup lol.

This 6505ii is made in china and there’s no differences in sound quality vs the USA mk1’s I’ve owned

Build quality, I wouldn’t know but it looks the same on the surface
