On the pop side of things, Roland JC-120. That sound is all over pop tunes from back then. I think Satch even recorded parts of "Surfing" with one. I remember seeing a ton of live acts back in the day with those in the backline. Lots of players used those Music Man hybrid amps as well. Also Lab Series L5.

Yep lots used the Roland Jazz Chorus.

This song must surely have it:

ADA MP1, Rocktron Pro Gap and the guys in Skid Row use Rivera amps no? Usually the tone was a lot of overproduced effects IMHO.

ADA MP-1s.

This...
Nuno, Paul Gilbert, Skid Row, and lots of others used these as well as Modded and stock Marshalls.
Mesa Mark IV was starting to make its way in as well.

Love Nuno's tone......I live in N.E and saw him many times locally and his tone was always amazing..
Skid Row's tone makes my ears happy as well.....Really thick lead tones.....
Great reference thank you........
One option for the Skid tone off Monkey Business is a RIVERA M series..60 or 100. They used those after touring withSaigon Kick and hearing Jason Bielers Rivera TBR tone....they are cheap used (M series).

I played a Pro Gap back then for awhile. Had forgotten about that! I switched to it after blowing up my old Marshall for the zillionth time.
