) sounded a little more aggressive. Unless you're talking about the ones from 1967, which were less gainy sounded a bit different in general.
As for the OP's amp...when you get it, if you can post some pics of the following in particular:
-date codes on the mustard caps (should be something like letter/number/letter)
-solder joints on the board (usually the original joints have red dye which tends to darken over time, and it should be easy enough to spot non original joints even if the red dye was faked)
-solder joints on the impedance and power transformer selectors (to see if the transformers were replaced), as well as the fuse holders (just to make sure the plexi panels are original to the amp)
