Lost a Friend and Fellow Bassist.

R.I.P. Sorry to hear about your friend man. So young.

I lost a coworker to suicide a few weeks ago, on the one year anniversary of another friend and coworker's suicide. I think these situations happen and make us appreciate life.

I just lost another peer.

Lance Collier of the band Dead East Garden just passed away. I met Lance back when he was reviving his old band, After the Sun a few decades ago. We let them use our jam room to practice the month before their reunion show. Dude was a great bassist, and his Boss Bass Overdrive tone always slayed through his Ampeg stack. I just saw Dead East Garden a few weeks ago when they jumped on a week tour with another regional stoner rock band.

I still don't know what happened, but he is already missed. That's two local bassists in the course of a week.

Bill Govan passed away this week, and I just got the news. Bill was a good dude, and ripped it up on bass in his bands Goosed and Radian. When his health began to decline, I filled in on bass in Radian for a few months, and recorded their new album in his place. We all hoped for the best and braced for the worst, but he had congestive heart failure. He was 40.

My condolences to you and his family and friends bro.
