A bit off topic; but experience with Bluetooth speakers?

My birthday is in August, wife asked me what I wanted. I want a portable Bluetooth Speaker for my MacBook and iPhone. I know it's not a amp/guitar, but which current models do you guys like? My nephew brought over his Bose sound link colored/blue one. Sounded pretty good. So it got me looking at klipsch km1, Bose sound link mini, jvc charge 2, and infinity. I listen to everything, classical, rock, black metal, etc.

i had a monster Iclarity and it was awesome. huge sound out of a tiny package. bluetooth or hardwire connection. kept a charge forever. even has a built in mic for talking on your phone, if i remember correctly. you can get refurbs off the monster website for cheap.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll look at it, but I usually boycott monster.

I have the bose sound link mini, and it sounds really big. Very good quality!

I bought one of these that I use for a practice amp using various ipad modeling apps and as a bluetooth speaker, works great for both. I bought mine through amazon for $199 but the price seems to have gone back up to the usual $250 now.

I have one of these great battery life and it is huge sounding with clarity.

Bought a small Jawbone.

would NOT recommend.

That said... I have one for sale!

I have a JBL charge 2. It is a great full sounding speaker for the price!

Sony SRS X3 here. I dig it quite a bit. Sounds big, holds the charge all day if you need it to. That said, I'm a fan of Bose products (despite the cool kids saying they are for amateurs who don't know good sound), but I haven't heard the soundlink.

Funny to see this topic.

I had a Tango TRX laying around. Didnt touch it for years. Yesterday night i took the time to get the dust of and thought to myself, my imac has bluetooth, why not pair it. So i did and damn, the sound was really great for such a small speaker. I will check if there is any latancy when i would use this with plugins when playing guitar.

I bet the expensive ones would sound really good.

I have the Soundfreaq platform 2 that kicks ass. Only downside is the battery is extra. Are you looking for a portable solution? If not there are some great bluetooth soundbars available. I have an Audiosource soundbar in my mancave that is awesome and, I use it for playing music from my phone.

JBL Charge 2!!!! I have one and one of the original Charges! Awesome sound and it gets loud enough to fill the room or the pool!!

Never had any issues with them either and you can charge your iphone's battery and still jam!

How is the latency? I was looking for something like this to use with BIAS with my phone, but folks at TGP said the latency with a Bluetooth speaker would be awful.

Another vote for jbl charge. Good speaker and decent battery pack.

Another vote for the Bose Soundlink mini. It's incredible!

I'm eyeballing the new Blackstar ID CORE Beam which is a combination guitar amp (SS) that handles electric, acoustic-electric and bass, plus also has Aux input and Bluetooth music playback. Anyone here tried one yet? It's kinda spendy vs. a plain bluetooth speaker but seems super versatile. It'd be replacing a Mustang I that we use for backing tracks off an iPhone and other misc amplification purposes, but the Blackstar would on occasion be used as a guitar/bass amp too.

I would recommend the JBL or the Bose. Great sound and small packages. I also have the Jawbone large and small, and while they're not bad, they're a good step below the other two.

Bose is dropping the sound link mini 2 June 17th on the market for $199, so since my bday isn't until August, I'll get initial reviews on it as well. Apparently it's got phone and extended battery to 10 hours over the version out now.
