I find it more interesting that A had an OVERWHELMING victory over on the Sneap forum, but more people here liked B.
Just goes to show how much better we are

Just kidding of course. But it is quite interesting.

I think it's because the Sneap Forum is primarily youngsters and they all like brighter tones better

Ok, so I chose "A" due to the fact that the top strings sounded "snappier" and the middle strings sounded "punchier" (close battle with clip "B" though).

To my ears, and this may sound extremely stoopid, but it sounds to me like from A>B>C the difference is that the volume knob is being slightly rolled down. I messed with playing some clean clips and the only way I could approximate the difference in the tones was by rolling off the volume knob slightly. I like the idea about attenuating via different cable lengths and got this result using the Line6 Relay G30 and their "Cable Tone Simulation" switch.

Anxious to hear the answer and have an idea I'm going to feel moronic when the veil is lifted...

And they are listening over cheaper speakers than we de.

I don't know about that one. Most people over at the Sneap Forum have $500+ dollar monitors. My pair of Event Opals were $3000

Cool, thanks Greg! I chose A and now I see why. Guess I have to rewire my entire rig. It's all Monster Rock. However, I do like the tones I'm currently getting.

OKAY GUIZE: Here are the answers:

Whoever guessed that cables were the variable changed wins!

What do you win? You already won; you have good ears, or good guessing skills

Anyone who tells you that cables don't make a huge difference is either deaf, stupid, or trying to sell you inferior cable

Here are the results:

a. Lava Soar Instrument Cable/Gepco X-Band XLR or TRS Cable for the entire rig
b. Lava Soar Instrument Cable/generic XLR cable
c. Monster Rock 500 Instrument Cable/generic XLR cable

Anyone who is interested in purchasing the cable, it is quite affordable in my opinion, and available from http://www.lavacable.com

The owner, Mark Stoddard, is one hell of a businessman when it comes to customer service, and a very nice fellow.

Hope you guys enjoyed!

Greg
It was me!!!  :D I always win when there's no money or prizes involved :aww:

But I do have a name to live up to ya know ;)

Cool thread, Thanks for doing that! Very interesting
