Nice lookin' stick! Have you guys seen the similar Charvels that Wildwest just got in? The Sea Foam green, and Orange ones look awesome!

Those are really cool if you like the Pro Mod neck shape/nut width. I like the wide, fat 21 fret necks on the Music Zoo Nitros and they won't make that profile for anyone else unless you pay $1K more!

Congrats on that awesome guitar! Man I love my nitro relic charvel. The necks on those are incredible. By far the best necks out of all my custom shop charvels.

Those Wildwood customs look a lot like my Sea Sick Green modded USA Production series, for about $2300 more!

Thanks.

The previous owner changed the hardware from black to chrome, added creme pickups rings and switch tip, and the DiMarzio AT-1 bridge and Breed neck. I snapped it up because it looks just the way I would have modded it!

Nice guitar and I hear ya on the price, but those new Wild West Charvel Custom Shops are RIDICULOUSLY overpriced. I didn't pay anywhere near what they are asking for those for my Music Zoo Nitro…

Even the Zoo owner's video says "Very affordable at just under $3k" - uh, that's pretty damned expensive if you ask me!

I don't think they are too far insane on Custom shops pricing. The $1000 up charge for a beefier neck profile is insane and I'd be buying some custom spec'd Muskraft necks ;) I personally wouldn't pay 3k for a bolt on strat but that is me, I'm cheap and have experience building from parts.

There are CS strats and teles that go 3x that price let alone USA Gibson production models priced north of 3k.

Price is subjective, although I never paid $3000 for any piece of gear if I just had to have it, I'd pay but the cheap fucker inside of me would probably win out :) The most expensive I ever paid was under $2500 for both my Ecstasy 101B and 57 RI LPC.

That's awesome Steve!
I love reliced guitars... :D
The neck grain is something else.. Beautiful.

Well, the Wild West guitars are over $400 more than the Music Zoo Nitro relics at list and I didn't pay list at The Music Zoo either.

I'm only comparing the Music Zoo and Wild West prices for very similar guitars. They are actually asking well over $400 more for a very similar guitar with a different neck profile at Wild West. I'm not making a general comment on overall pricing of Charvel Custom Shop guitars, which are worth the price to me personally…

The $1000 up charge on that neck profile applies to other retailers, not to the Music Zoo and I agree it's ridiculous, but it seems they have some kind of exclusivity on that neck profile with the Custom Shop for some reason...

This is the USA, of course it is going to be expensive. On that note I paid just under 3K for my Luxxtone and it is an awesome guitar. Defintely on par with the Charvel Custom shop stuff. I got to play two Charvel Custom shop guitars last month that played and sounded awesome. Just as good as my Luxxtone. They were the basic standard ones around $2100-$2200 and one was Nitro finish. Now I know why people love them.

Steve, any idea where they get the crown head tuners for these?

They get them direct from Gotoh and Gotoh will not sell them to ANYONE else. I went to the Gotoh booth three different times at NAMM last year and talked to three different people and they kept saying "Charvel only".

Note how the nut looks to be narrower than the shelf - wonder if they put an R2 on there for some reason, instead of the R3 or R4?

They do it for the same reason Edward did.
