Yes! Joscho was my gateway drug into Gypsy Swing. Then I got into Django Reinhardt (mostly early stuff) and it was like a whole new unknown genre of awesome guitar to me. And learning to play Django "two-finger" style was VERY eye opening as far as left hand technique. There are many phrases he played that are sooo much easier when played with only two fingers.
