Not my video. I don't know much about it other than the guy got a pretty aggressive tone out of his Vintage Modern.

Wow, really aggressive! I wonder what he boosted it with.

I don't dig that very much.. Especially compared to your vids. That vid actually shows why I've never gotten along with that amp... The super fizzy top end. I'm starting to think I prefer it at a low volume, which is weird.

+1, not sure about the volume thing, but I definitely liked the tone in your VM vid you did the other day a lot more.

Well the only VM clips I've really enjoyed a lot seem to be the ones of Yngzaklynch's made at a low volume.

hmm, maybe it's just the way clips I've heard are mic'd or something, but I have to agree with you, Yngzaklynch's clips have been the best I've heard of this amp IMO.

I didnt care for it either  Sounded rather nasally...plus the horrid playing didnt help

I appreciate the kind words about the tone I get. All I can do is give you some settings and maybe you'll find the VM to your liking, maybe you won't. I think it works for me pretty well and I have a lot of fun playing through it. I agree this tone is on the raspy side but for styles I think it would work. I've already switched up the setting on the amp since my last vid. The amp can cover a lot of ground. Never watch one VM vid and think thats all it can do.

holy presence batman!!!

I don't know if it's the Presence or a distortion pedal. I'm not sure I can mimick this tone.

I`m taking into consideration that it was recorded with the camera mic, but I like your better too, Jim. I kinda liked this one too, I can see it (in person, not through laptop speakers rending a camera mic recording) cutting through the mix.

In one of the pictures, you can see a Marshall pedal on top of the amp. I can`t make out which one, but maybe the distortion comes from the pedal..?? Or some of it?

Saw the same thing, marshall bodied pedal on top in 1 photo..
point is that cruddy amp cant do it all on its own.... :hys:

you can see a marshall jackhammer or govnor pedal or something on top of the head. The VM comes no where near that type of gain unboosted.
