There are just too many ways too control everything these days. I can't imagine giving up my SLO because it doesn't have MIDI and I don't want to spend a little extra to control it.
Not a judgement, just something to think about.![]()

RJM makes great products. I had the -16 when I had the Mesa Roadster, which worked great.
Only problem (which is not really a problem at all), is that I like to use as little equipment as possible for gigs, and having a switcher means that I need a rack case or the like...
The reason why I like amps with MIDI (especially combo's) is that I can use a pedal board with a looper (with MIDI also), or a MultiFX with the amp modelling switched off... And have a really simple versatile set up. That way, I got: Combo > Board > Guitar... Done.
Less to lug about, less to worry about.
Of course, if I was playing on a slightly larger scale, I wouldn't mind using some more of my gear live.

Per OPs comment's this would easily velcro to the back of any head for MIDI:

Like Steve said, you can get MIDI control over any amp. Ron will even make a cable for your amp to interface with the Gizmo. Best customer service around.![]()
Cheers,
Mike

ONLY if you use a unit like the GCX, RJM or similar like a breakout box.
The Quad does not actually have a MIDI in or out, just latching switches that can be controlled my a MIDI switcher.
