They better.
Most sane canadians, Mexicans, and Australians would rather be Americans at this point now. Soon people will hear the word "Canada" and think of a wilderness area within the borders of the US.

Honestly I know you hate to hear it - we have a better system so no... When I need to see the doctor which is quite frequently because of skin cancers it is subsidised. So we can afford to go. It's still expensive and adds up but it's not like you have to take out a mortgage if you need to go to hospital. Honestly - the US is terrible for healthcare. It may as well be India. What's the good of having hospitals and doctors if you can't afford to go. On TGP there's a guy that just paid USD 40,000 for some kidney stones... and A-bone had to set up a go fund me. FFS.

Also our system of Government has checks and balances which prevents meglomaniacs.

An heavy handedness here during COVID was actually done to protect the broader population because they actually cared. There was no conspiracy. Even if I don't agree with how they handled it in all circumstances.

You just want state funded freebies. Once you get your US citizenship that's coming to an end.

You watch too much tv.

I retired at 47 - have a nice big house - every modern convenience you could ever wish for. Great motorbikes that I can ride all year round... All the guitars and amps I could ever want until they come out my ears... Decent roads that I can have great bike rides. Beaches to walk on. Mountains. Ski Resorts if I want....

What does America have that I don't have here.

Nothing at all.

There are all classes in both countries.

It's actually pretty flat socially here. We are known for being a classless society although people still judge I guess implicitly - like the classic line at a party "so... what do you do for a living". I managed to do all those things from working. I started with nothing. I got no inheritance and didn't win any lottery... I wasn't given anything to get there.

We have all of that and our guitars and amp choices are better.

When you're a thumbpicker it doesn't really matter. A Fender DRRI or HR Deville, four different sized Roland Cubes for practice is enough... and an acoustic amp... A small Bass Amp. What more do I need. Playing clean doesn't need some weird boutique thing.

What happens when the dixie goes bust, you covered?

Small house+big acreage>big house+small lot

Can't have bonfires or do donuts on your dirtbike or shoot guns or crank my twin in town all night either. City living sucks for the most part. So does the cost. The more I can live off stuff that exists outside my back door, the happier I am. I just need a nice creek or good spring.
