Russia beat Hitler ? Dude, that is bullshit in so many ways.
I don't think it's really up for debate, but of course everyone that fought in the war would like to consider themselves the decisive factor. It is indisputable that Russia suffered the most casualties, both civilian and military.

Meanwhile, in reality...

I think this is turned into a meme or "conspiracy" theory, but most folks do not really understand that the US is supporting and siding with the Nazi contingent in Ukraine since the 1940's. And the US, as noted, also imported Nazi scientists and tech after the war. The US has in some ways assumed the Nazi movement, or at least closely allied themselves with it in the fight against Russia. It's ironic given the continual howling and hand-wringing about Nazis and "Far-right" extremism here in the US and Europe.

Boris btw was the guy that scuttled the peace deal, however crappy, that Ukraine was about to sign in April '22.

...Now Ukraine's borders are smaller, they have 500k+ less fighting age men, a destroyed civil infrastructure and an unconstitutional president (y)

...And they are still going to lose, or rather have lost.

You think Hitler was going to invade the US? ...it was the Russians that essentially beat them — and paid a high price for it too.

I didn't say or imply that. The Germans were the first to split the atom. Albert Einstein and Leo Szilard warned President Roosevelt about the effects of an atomic bomb. Roosevelt understood and so he started the Manhattan Project to build an atomic bomb.

Here's the story of why and how we created the atomic bomb. It's fascinating.

Most casualties doesn't equate to "Won the war". Without US intervention the Nazis very well could have taken Russia out of the equation. It's also not news that the country that was invaded suffered more casualties than a country halfway around the world who sent troops to their aid.

What isn't up for debate is that we allowed Russia to take Berlin and Hitler when we definitely could have taken it ourselves first. It was shortsighted of us to allow that to happen and shortsighted to allow the USSR to subjugate Eastern Europe.

And what we should have done is allowed Japan to decimate China first and then taken them out.

I think it's rich to hear the Russians or should I say Soviets, to accuse Ukraine of being overrun by nazis. The differences between Soviet communism and nazi-ism were miniscule. And after 1945 the only government in Europe that ruled with a dictatorship was The Soviet Union and it's puppet governments in Eastern Europe.

All that said, I personally don't think the US should be still taking on the role of protector of Europe. I think the former Soviet satellites are not our concern. NATO countries as they were up until 1992 should be defended by the NATO alliance which absolutely should NOT be dominated by The United States. The US and western countries entertaining the idea that Ukraine could join NATO is why this war is happening and was a ridiculously asinine foreign policy mistake.

Muhamed Ali could have beaten Joe Frazier if he was brought in as sub in the 15th round for someone else who had already fought 14 rounds.

Stupid analogy and one that is extremely insulting to tens of thousands of families of American casualties of a war we didn't have to fight. No one was stupid enough to invade our country.

Saying the US "won the war" is insulting to all the allied soldiers that fought before and after the US joined the war (after they were attacked in Pearl Harbor - so not to actually help out the goodness of their own heart anyway). The correct thing to say is "the allies won the war".

Okay let me rephrase it then. If the US had not entered the war, Europe would be called Deutschland right now. Better ?

Did you read the articles I posted? They’re not exactly Russia friendly outlets.

There was a scramble at the close of the war to take territory in Germany to balance out the Russian's grab. Russia was certainly an equal partner in their defeat. However, Russia then became guilty of everything Germany had done before it and seized Eastern Europe. Russia are complete and utter c^#ts. I hate them and everything they stand for.

Many of us feel the same way about that fraud Zelensky. A prop installed to charm the low IQ masses.

More importantly they are not US friendly outlets.
Yes they are — Wapo and Vox are like right behind Nytimes as premier mouthpieces for the regime. But they’d probably disavow those articles now anyways ?
