The Splawn QR is the one amp that I can't live without. It simply does everything I need. From 80's metal, to heavier stuff with a 7 string. It does it all.

That's it. Just had to say it.

I did remember considering a pro mod at one point, but then reality struck - i am not a pedal person, and hating QR's is sacrilegious to splawns.

Thing is, there's nothing going on when I do my recordings. There's no 'doctoring'. I don't use any eq so when people say they hate the QR but like the clips of them I'm thoroughly confuzzled... LOL! :D

Nothing sacrilegious about not digging an amp. Trust me, I'm not insulted if you don't like it... LOL! :D
I just think that alot of times people hear what they want to hear.

I will tell you this. The QR is a picky amp when it comes to tubes/speakers/pickups/guitars... So the wrong combo (especially speakers) will leave you with the wrong impression.
 
Nice. Good knowledge to have. I have yet to play a splawn.
 
they are the single most loudest amplifiers i have ever came across. louder than SLO's - seriously.

Yeah it's really loud and yet... I'm playing it on a sunday morning while the kids are upstairs sleeping... No attenuator... nothing.

I actually took the weekend off. Didnt play at all. Rough week :aww:

Glad you found your one and only. Some of us have searched high and low for that. It's a good feeling when you open 'er up and VOILA!! The sound in yer head becomes the sound in yer hands. Nice.

So, just as an aside, and this is seriously JUST an aside, I remember perusing their website not too long ago - Splawn - and there seemed to be this weird jesus christianity bent going on. Quite honestly it scared the shit outta me and I have since always kept my distance. Was this some kinda spoof or something?
