Im not saying the QR is a bad amp...and I think Scott is a talented and good guy. But the amp is just 'loud' and 'soul less' to me... volume pots are shit... notes just die at the strings, no sustain, no harmonics.. My guitar player still plays one live and the thing just shrills through the mix...I can't warm to it. To each his own.. but for my own, the QR just doesn't do it for me.
 The QR is the most unforgiving amp I have ever played... Every little thing comes thru. Notes die at the stings???? He may want to check the settings because that doesn't describe my QR at all....

after all these years, can you easily say that scott's a nice guy?

Agreed Vlad, it definitely has choices...I am not saying there isn't any tonal variety. Actually, as I mentioned, for the tones it has it does them REALLY WELL. I love that hot-rodded Marshall/early VH sound and I don't think I have found another amp that can do it the way the QR can. I actually sold a vintage modded Marshall back when I bought the Splawn because I felt the Splawn did it better

Just saying that I have other amps that have what you are talking about, multiple channels with switches, etc...still I plug in the QR and go WOW!

Yup... For me, it's the right set of features. I guess I'm one of those guys that doesn't need much. :D

I loved my Splawn QR, & I loved my PM...just hated their stupid turn around time on a fix, mod etc...also hate my splawn cabinet (has the big blocks in it & they sound terrible).

What was their turnaround time?

I love my Splawn cab.

I have a splawn modded marshall - terrific amp!

Never played one. I heard it's somewhat different from the QR/PMs

I have found that after all these years that I don't have the motivation to tell others that I don't like the amp they like. :D

As a guitar player One of the best feelings in the world is when you find an amp/amps that work for you

Yup. It's nice to have 1 amp as your main amp. I can't live with just one because I need constant reaffirmation that my main amp is indeed my main amp

Don't like the big blocks? I love H30's and these are supposed to be like H30's. I haven't tried the BB's but I have the SB's and those sound killer. I think this year is the year I finally get a matching Splawn cab with my QR, but I'm not set on which set of speakers to go with yet.

I'm thinking a nice matching Splawn 4x12 will go good with this?

That's one of the problems with building whatever the customer wants. Sometimes the customer wants something that looks like that

This is mine (Used to be Chubtone's) through a Splawn 2x12 loaded with a Scumback J75 and M75. No attenuation. I am ok that you don't like it, find the amp that does it for you, but I think your criticism's are not accurate:

Yeah... I can't agree with anything suhrimmetal described.
When I read posts like this, I can't help but think 'operator error'.
