Say what you want about hair metal... but I have a lot of sweet memories of hot-as-hell chicks with big hair at big rock shows, great times with good friends, and yes... even the music. Like most guitar players of the day, I was obsessed with emulating the technical wizards (Yngwie, Satch, Lynch, EVH, Rhoads, etc), but always made time to make memories in the club scene (both as a player and an audience member).

Been playing the hell out of this one lately. Really brings it all back. (Besides being a performer, Lita was the epitome of a hot 80s chick too.)

I didn't say that she was a great singer, or a supermodel. But the music brings it all back for me and she was hot. We could sit here and wank-off to Frank Gambale and Allan Holdsworth all day, but elite musicianship is not what this thread was about. I majored in classical guitar performance in a program run by Christopher Parkening in the late 80s. But I never went to a recital to scope leather-clad, bustier-wearing chicks with big hair like I went to a Whitesnake show to do. This thread is about the livin' large, hair metal, big rock show 80s... not an e-penis measuring contest at GIT.

And yeah... the record company "suits" had completely F'd up hair metal and made it entirely about image by the end. Thankfully there was a ton of great stuff in there before it died.

I liked Doro too. But if we're gonna go the opposite of "manly", why not throw-out some names of chicks who were completely feminine, like Kate Bush. Always loved me some sweet Kate Bush back in the day.

We went through an era that you'll never be able to fully experience. Having been through the eras that came after the 80s as well... I can assure you that the 90s and 2000s were completely forgetable in comparison. And the 2010s? I don't even know what defines the current bullshit era. I wouldn't trade my my memories for being young today (though I wouldn't mind feeling less aches and pains... LOL!).
