Al Estrada with DLR in Las Vegas

There are other videos online, one of the whole concert shot from the left of the stage and the whole thing sounds way way better. I think the problem is that the video that is shot from the front row directly under Roth in the front row is picking up a ton of the front two monitors that are all of Dave's voice only. Not standing up for Roth as his voice is not what it used to be and he is putting a different spin on the songs but look for the whole concert video shot from stage left as this sounds way way different and his vocals sit nicely or shall I say "nicer" in the mix. I think for warming up for Kiss he will be fine especially for the band his has backing him as the backing band is tight and the backing vocals sound just like early VH. Warming up for Kiss on a warm summer night, he will only have 45 minutes and won't go into his long story and will just rock it out and the crowd will get into it. I think with Neil Peart passing this week, we all must hold onto our heroes growing up and just take it for what it is worth while they are still around.

God bless Mick. I have to learn that little dance one of these days.
I'm honestly not a Stones fan. My musical DNA is firmly planted in the 80s, so this video is so refreshing for me just to escape from all the garbage that's aired on the radio theses days. I sound like my father when he first heard Led Zeppelin play "Hey hey mama . . ." (you get the idea). He ask me what the hell Plant was saying cuz he couldn't here the lyrics clearly. I suppose its going to be a fun ride at 57 and counting becoming old an fuddy-duddy retired esoteric mathematician. Oh well, it coulda been worse. :) Now the question is, what's next?

I love Al Estrada. He was a big reason I got a Splawn. But I am resisting watching this video based on the comments. It is no surprise though. His voice/shtick/verse rambling has gotten worse and worse over the years. I saw him with Eddie in 2012 and then 2015 but admittedly was going to see Eddie and for nostalgia. I knew then that David was losing the parts that made him great.

I'm sure there are lots of people going to see David Lee Roth in Vegas but are not aware of what we already know. What a shame/shock for them right?

Good to know. I think I will look for those instead if I can drum up the courage. Otherwise, I can find Al's stuff on my own.

When it was announced that Vai wasn't in the band and in fact the others I haven't heard of, I thought, oh no. But, when I heard that Al was playing, that changed it all. If there is anyone out there that can nail Eddie, it's Al. Kudos to him for landing the gig. When they hit the road with Kiss that will be a life changing ride.

Soooo many girls I knew.. hell, just about every woman that knew who he was wanted DLR...
He was the ultimate king of cool, party, good time singer! Saw him on the EEAS tour at MSG. Pinned against the stage as our seats were 2nd row but we walked up and then couldnt move when the band came on. Meanwhile over my right shoulder is some super drunk, super hot chick who first takes her top off and now I have bra boobies to my right. Then she takes her bra off and throw that onstage and now I have naked boobies on my shoulder! I have never seen so many chicks in various stages of undress at any show. Was a great time!

FF to today and while I am happy for Al, Dave is just crushing all those memories by trying to sing... at least kill the mic and blame the sound guy!!!

Van Halen will never be again. Glad I saw them on their first reunion tour. Dave wasn't too terrible. I cannot even listen to these videos now.
He should have stopped 5 years ago and saved face. He wasn't great on that Jumstart tour I saw him on ,but now... I don't know what the fuck that thing is.
Saw VH in 78 and 79 never saw em again. Glad I didn't really they were awesome and I will remember it that way. DAVE DAVE DAVE

Dave was awesome many moons ago....he's now simply embarrassing  He needs to get a job hosting a show on SiriusXM or AXS TV...or maybe a game show host ....no more of that god awful thing he's been trying to do on stage now for far too long

Dave now sounds, looks, and acts like grandpa Simpson on cocaine... he just needs an onion tied around his belt. Lol

I just hope Al is getting the pussy onslaught VH got back in the day, go Al GO

Thanks again rm5153 for the idea

Here is a passable DLR doing Mean Street. I also briefly saw on the Splawn FB page that Al is using Splawn Amps for these gigs - no surprise. And yeah, he's got that Eddie push and pull as always
