All this Megadeth talk...

This album got them back on the radar for me. Hadn't though about or listened to MD for years until Kiko basically. Idk why, I could certainly be wrong but I think he brought something to the table to make them relevant to me again.

Drummer of Lamb of God might have kicked Dave’s ass in the studio for Dystopia. I could see that lighting a fire in anyone too . Then add kiko it’s like wow

Definitely; I was the same way. Youthanasia is the last album of theirs I actually liked until Dystopia

Kiko is the fuckin man

I wish Kiko would really go for it on his solos . They are killer but he seems like he’s still holding back in Megadeth compared to some stuff he’s done solo

I've been a Megadeth fan since way back. Learning riffs from Rust in Peace had a lot to do with the way my playing developed. Dystopia easily hangs with, and is included in, my favorite Megadeth albums. Hoping the new one is more of the same.

I agree and the tone was Fear Factory like . Dystopia is produced so good

Will have to check out Dystopia. For 2004's the system has failed was the last really good album, didn't get into united abominations much and didn't check out anything further.

And looks like the new album is due out Sept 2.

Megadeth has had some really great guitar players but I think Kiko is a perfect fit for the band and my favorite since Marty.
100% agree. He is a blend of all the guys that came before and is so precise and consistent. So good. I urge people not to sleep on his work with Angra. Especially Temple of Shadows which is already really old ..2004. crazy.

Megadeth has been very hit and miss with me since Youthanasia. Mostly miss. With all of the Dystopia talk, sounds like I should give that one a fair shot.

I went back and listened to Countdown a couple of weeks ago, and man, how great were they?

Must check out this new Kiko business. Thanks for the tip!

Dystopia is so good . If you missed it it’s worth a few listens.
