Seeing him Monday in NYC. Went to a Q&A last weekend he was doing. Got to meet and got a signed promo photo.

Awesome guy and a huge inspiration.

Really wish he was coming to the DFW area. He is a major influence on me though I don't approach his technique or understanding.

The show last night was simply stupendous. Allan played at his usual tremendous level (at close to 70) and Jimmy Haslip and Gary Husband were fantastic too, especially Gary who has such affinity for Allan's music.

Steve Hunt, Allan's old keyboardist was in the audience and digging it too...

They played a wide range of Allan's material including Tony Williams era pieces and a section of Allan's the Un-Merry Go Round which I haven't heard live before even having seen Allan many, many times through the years.

I know it's easy to take Allan's incredible playing for granted after so many years of brilliance but who knows how many more times he will tour like this.

Yay!
