Almost won Bill Kehliher's Axe FX

Mastodon had a drawing for Bill's Axe fx 2 and I was one of the 6 winners. I ended up being 6th runner up which landed me an autographed poster. I had a feeling I was going to win but damn I wanted the Axe fx. Oh well still cool. Also I grabbed a Marshall 1936v 2x12 to go with my modded 2204. So all in all today was a good day.

Have any of you guys ever won a gear giveaway? I've tried a million of them but so far I've only won this poster and a pack of SIT strings.

Nice. I've never won any of them. My buddy at work won a $600 BC Rich a few years ago.

I did win $300 in a captain crunch contest when I was like 8.

The Music Zoo and AMS always have really good ones. And every year around Christmas I piss off my fb friends trying to win shit from Orange. It's nice to finally have something to show for the effort

I actually won a Guitar Center contest once. Was 2nd or 3rd prize. Got an Egnater Tweaker 44 head and 2 Egnater 1x12 cabinets shipped to my local store. Tweakers were cool but, not necessarily what I was looking for (grand prize was an Armageddon full stack for reference) so I traded for an EVH 5150 50 watt head in mint shape which I still have today! So thanks again GC!

I have the worst luck, never win, quit trying. The only thing I’ve ever won was a frozen turkey during a raffle while playing Bingo back in the 90’s. That even sucked because I was in the Navy and I lived in the barracks on base and had to give the turkey away.

Back in 2002, I won an all expenses paid trip to L.A to see Ozzfest, backstage passes, $2500 spending cash, hotels, and a limo to the show, and roundtrip airfare. Being 2002, I still had an answering machine. And due to being in bed with mono, I missed the call. They gave away the trip before I heard the message on the machine. Still pissed to this day.

back when the internet was NEW there was a VHML (Van Halen Mailing List). Long story short I won an autographed Peavey Wolfgang...autographed by ED. I could even choose which color I wanted. The address it came from was 5150. I ended up selling that guitar when I lost my job during the '09 financial crisis...but I still have the packing slip somewhere with the 5150 address.
