I'll spell these wrong. I hiked up to the top of the Koauloa mountains, took an hour to get up there but I'm a hiking fool
Ko'olau mountains
Maiwea was kicking when i was there but since i didn't have any boogie board i just ducked under the waves.
Waimea
Went to Sandy Beach, and my favorite calm type of beach was the one near Bello's air force station, Waimanalo?
Bellows air force base/sherwood forest

Hiked up to the Light house. And i hiked up a few more places in this book i have called the 50 hikes in Oahu. I hear the Stairway To Heaven has been closed down.

not bad but fix'um bumbai da locals give you stink eye :D

stairway to heaven was nuts dangerous...i'm not much for a 100 foot vertical wood ladder on a windy mountain
another weird one is the little trail to the right of the pali lookout as you walk from the parking lot. the trail dead ends abruptly at a 30 foot cliff!

I wonder if anyone has fallen down the Koko Head railroad climb? If anyone tripped on the way they'd be in big trouble. I know they closed that hike some years ago but reopened it due to it's popularity.

Did the lifeguards yell at you not to past the white markers in Hanauma? I was by myself one time but just followed a few other people out. The only time i see the turtles there is to go out past the markers. But the coolest thing i saw there was a reef shark. Some guy spotted it and called me over, we had to dive down about 8 or 9 feet and look up into this small cave and there were these 2 small sharks. I think they chill out all day and only come out at night to feed. They looked harmless though to people.

i almost croaked on one takeoff at the point, dug a rail on the drop in and dove head first towards the finger on a set wave. somehow never got a scratch but that was olo olo check time!

most of the time though it's mellow and da locals go li dis

back when i was in my teens/20s and surfing or bodysurfing every day, it was no biggie
now...i'd jump in to surf the reef break 100 yards or so off the wall, because that is my perfect wave, but not the point anymore...and i'm done with spitting caves although i'd still backflip the rock at waimea.

Ah to be mentoneman for a day...maybe a week. :D

I'd go looking for the 'hatch' from Lost.

I'm not gonna lie...being one local boy and talkin pigeon has major advantages

I got a free rental car upgrade from Impala to SUV busting out da pigeon

I got unlimited fin rentals for half price of normal 2 hour rental for throwing down to da beach boys

got kamaina rate for slippers at Foodland

and the meanest looking moke I saw all trip gave stink eye to all these people walking by and all I had to do was give him the "wassup up nod" and he busted out the biggest close eye smile with the full slo mo braddah cuz shaka.

My son even asked "how did you do that?" and all I could do was shrug my shoulders and say "brah...." and walk away.
looking Hawaiian and talking pigeon may not be stoking in Alabama but in the islands it is the keys to da city!

So it's called pigeon, eh? I'm certain you have a home field advantage when talking pigeon. I can't imagine the looks I'd get if I tried that. :D

Actually, it looks like I just found the key.

what's funny is I used to put the "d" in pidgeon but figgah no way one ol skool local goin get da silent d so no need! Da more rong da beddah!

My mom used to teach 8th grade at Dole intermediate in Kalihi valley...super mokes!! Like 40 yr old eigth grader with 3 kids with moustaches...and das just the daughters.
Lots of Samoans and tongans...way more physical discipline.
She called a parent in to tell him his daughter was failing due to laziness.
He turns to girl, and punches her in the mouth and knocks her out!
Mom never had another parent meeting after that
