Let's say you had a moderate recording studio, needed money to buy some recording gear, and had to sell an amp out of this list, which one would you sell and why?

Bogner Ecstasy 101B (let's say pre-2004)
Bogner Ecstasy 20th EL34
Bogner Shiva EL34
Bogner Uberschall Rev Blue
Diezel VH4
Fortin Bones
Marshall JCM 800 2204
Mesa Boogie Mark III
Roland JC120
Soldano SLO 100
Wizard Modern Classic II
Wizard Vintage Classic

101B since you'd already have the 20th, which I like much better. Would probably also dump the JC120 since I've never been a fan, and the 800 since you've got the Wizards. Or keep the 800 and dump a Wizard.

I'd keep an Ecstasy, Diezel, JCM800, and Wizards. I'd sell the rest and pick up a decent Fender combo for cleans.

Bogner Ecstasy 20th EL34
//Bogner Shiva EL34
//Bogner Uberschall Rev Blue
//Diezel VH4
//Fortin Bones
Marshall JCM 800 2204
Mesa Boogie Mark III
Roland JC120
Soldano SLO 100
//Wizard Modern Classic II
//Wizard Vintage Classic

No need for the redundancy, and a lot of them overlap in capabilities that can be replicated or simply done better by others in a studio environment.

101B since you have the 20th. Next would be the Shiva because of the 800 and the other amps you have should cover whatever it can do.

Interesting
Care to elaborate?

There's actually some people that like the 101B better than the 20th out there...
And also take note this is a hypothetical situation ;)

I'd let go of the SLO and would be looking hard at that JC120.

I've owned or played most of those. I'd dump the Fortin or Shiva.

You can cover a lot of ground with the versatility in the 20th. The cleans of that and the roland 120 would get you far. The Bones and Diezel are great amps but the Bones would be better suited for a live setup, in the studio I would much prefer the bogner, the marshall boosted, or the SLO.

The wizards are very unique - the bogner, SLO, and Mark III cover similar grounds and have been on countless records. They record well and respond great to many speaker combinations. Also the wizards are the most expensive of the bunch and would be the first to go if you needed studio cash. Just makes sense.

I would ditch all the Bogners. Pick up a Fender Deluxe Reverb and an AC30.

Deluxe Reverb and AC30 indeed seem like the missing "classics" in that list
Apparently, the Wizards record like no other though

I remember we played an James's AC30, Orange Rockerverb, and fender reissue back to back on the cleans. The Fender sounded killer. Next the rockerverb really had a great clean, and last the AC30. Mids and bass up on the fender it didnt get woofy, bottoming out, or nothing. Just sounded full and killer. None of them sounded bad but the fender definitely had something going on that no one got tired of :)

That is correct on the Wizards….they do record very easy!

I wouldn't use an AC30 for clean tones….with the right guitar and volume they have a certain "character" you can't get from anything else.

I'd sell the VH4 as I'm not a fan. For the price they go for, you could probably pick up an AC30 and the gear you need.

I would sell the ecstasy 101b as you already have a 20th and a shiva for the bogner tones. Next would be the fortin bones. Both of these amps will bring in decent money also which is another reason I picked them.
