As far as sound goes, I agree, tightness becomes uninspiring pretty quick.
That's not the case with other things in life though

The Wizard I had was hot & tight, but it was so dry that it was no fun to play. I got bored after a few strokes.. To me the Mesas are hot, tight enough that with good hand control you can keep it in the sweet spot, and just the right amount of saturation that it's still a good time after you've been playing with them for hours!

I had a JP2C on order for a year, finally cancelled it and bought a 5150iiis EL34 100W. Totally happy with the EVH. Mesa is great though
