Well... I figure come fall I'll be demoing my amp at some local shows, etc. and I'm gonna bring a W/D/W rig to show how I can get the Joe Holmes live sound with the Cherry Bomb. For authenticity to Joe's gear, I put this rack together:

Just waiting for a Matrix gt800fx to powqer everything and the rack will be done... It'll be nice and light to since the Matrix only weighs like 8-9 lbs instead of my VHT 2/50/2 that weighed 33!

I'll have a Henning 4x12 cab for dry and 2 Henning ported, closed back 1x12 cabs for wet. Those will be made soon...

Cool, huh - of course, people can demo the amp dry as well...

I love those SDE 3000. Had a couple myself back in the day.

Steve, don't you need a Boss SE70 in there for a Holmes rig? It looks like you have room in the first rack space open? I have one I can sell you if need be. :D
Please post your delay and detune settings too.

Isn't holmes coming out with a new release soon. Recall reading that somewhere.

What's the pedal at the top of the rack?

It looks like an El Capistan that Steve may be using to take the place of the SE70 that was in Joe Holmes' rig. Probably there to split the mono line out of the Cherry Bomb to stereo for the two delays.

It's an El Capistan that I'm using to split the guitar signal like Holmes did with the SE70...

Ah, he only used the SE70 to slit the signal to the SDE-3000s anyway. :D

I'll post my settings when I get it dialed right...

I've tried this setup before with limited results. I don't have SDE-3000's but I tried with an Intelliverb, Intellifex, G Major, etc. I'm just not getting the huge sounding wide stereo image but kind of a weaker chorus-y tone that I don't dig. I want a setup that mimics the stereo spread of the Rockman chorus/delay.
It's got to be something wrong with my settings.

He was in LIzzy Borden - Visual Lies had some great riffs...

My experience is that the other units you mentioned don't sound like the SDE-3000... You need two though for W/D/W. The modulation on the SDE-3000 is very warm sounding. Did you have three cabs?

Steve

Saw Joe Holmes with Oz back in early to mid 90's....Type O Negative and Sepultura opened for Oz...its was a great show....Joe's tone was massive and playing spot on....good stuff and great player
