Amp Techs average turnaround time on mods?

How long does it take to get an amp modded. My Marshall has been in a techs possession for over nine weeks. I'm trying to be patient. He ignores emails and says he doesn't give updates. Am I just being a little Biotch? I feel like I could have shipped it overseas to Gower and I would have it back by now. I would expect this if I tried to get Fortin to mod it. I don't think I'll ever send another amp off to get modded after this. Sorry for all the ranting.

A lot of it depends on backlog. Some amps are harder to work on then others and some mods take longer then others and frequently they have to wait themselves on parts, especially for swapping transformers, but most of it is usually just waiting for your place in line. Some techs move you to the end of the line every time you ask for an update as well, which is complete crap. The last time I ordered an out of stock transformer I think just that took 5 weeks. They have your goods and should provide reasonable updates and timelines even if it's just 'in a few weeks', 'a few months', or 'man I'm buried - at least 6 months'.

Thank you. I thought I was being unreasonable. After nine weeks I think I deserve some kind of update. I'm not happy at all. I'm not going to slam the modder but this thing better kick ass! This modder is very well know also. The thing that gets me is that it's been over nine week and it could possibly be nine more. Who knows. He won't tell me anything.

I think with Trace at VoodooAmps you could actually book an appointment and wait while he mods your amp (believe I saw that on the website)

Kruse Kontrol Amplification...always updated me, had it 6 days from when it arrived to completed...shipped out on day 7.

I remember him having a two day turnaround. Should have gone that route.

Some modders truly believe they are doing you a favor and you should wait on their genius and when the mood strikes while other modders have a more reasonable business rather than fantasy model.

Glad I have some awesome modders near me that only take days rather than months.

Wow bad situation man. He has all the leverage. Dunno what to tell you. Even if you paid with a CC or PP and tried to cancel, he still has your amp.

Next time hit up Andrew's Amp Lab (unaffiliated) in Atlanta, Georgia. I haven't had any mods by him, but he did a stellar job reworking bits of my '76 Marshall JMP 2203.

What?!?! That sucks. Question though... Why would you pay everything up front? I don't care if I'm dealing with reinhold bogner, I wouldn't pay 100 upfront
