Not an amp builder, but if that is your first, that is a really clean job.

I didn't build it. It was built by old pros.

whats with thos transformers why is the copper covering always dented. I worked on one that looked exactly like that. It was a hand wired marshall though. And the copper sheilding was all dented. ? ?

Well the copper shielding doesn't appear damaged in any way, just dented. Unless there's break in the strands or something, I don't see how that would be significant. Is it?

no. im just wondering why it has to be dented. Ive seen several.

Oh heck I don't know. It was like that when I removed the chassis.

old pros ? ? ? who ? looks like a marshall hand wired amp. that old of a pro?

I'm not saying until I get a few more qualified opinions.

i see a mesa trick in there. that guy definately had plenty of knowledge in building amplifiers.

looks real clean as far as neatness/tidyness. good amplifier.

ive seen so, so, so, so much worse. *shivers*

It's pretty obvious that it is done well - why are you asking?

Boy, you must have some amazing eyes, 'cause all I can tell is the wiring is tidy and well done... I can't read component values, etc. with pics that small...

its a well known trick that was used in the simulclass 395 and strategy 400 poweramps... mike fortin knows about this as well. he has a much better solution to the problem. :D

you dont need to know values at all times - thats where the engineering comes to play.

hitachi does it too for their high end digital circuits - the guy that built this amplifier knows his shit. A+

I'm done. I'm gonna post multiple drawings of the different layers showing grounding, relay wiring, front panel wiring, board template, etc so the drawing is readable and not too congested to be useful... then its on to drilling and populating my board...

Huh... I can't see anything unusual about that amp, but I'll take your word for it...

BTW - I do have a BSEE... :)

Steve

surprised you dont see it steve.

graduating in may with an ACET and almost finished with an AEET. hopefully i can get a decent technician job to get my foot in the door so i can afford a BSCET later on in life
